Root Canal Treatment during COVID-19 Pandemic
To our patients and referring offices:
While many things have changed since the pandemic, one thing has remained the same: our commitment to the health and safety of our patients. However, due to clinical protocols, we are unable to offer same day emergency availability at this time. Every attempt will be made to see you as quickly as possible.
Our office has always followed strict infection control standards, but in addition we have updated those protocols. We will continue to adhere to the accepted guidelines of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the Royal College of Dental Surgeons of Ontario (RCDSO), and the Ontario Ministry of Health. We monitor these agencies so that we are up-to-date on any new rulings or guidelines that may be issued.
When we see patients, it will be different. We have made some changes to protect our patients and our staff. Patients will be screened in advance of their appointments and again at our office. The use of hand sanitizer will be mandatory as are patient masks. Patients must wear a mask for their time in our office except when dental care is being provided. You will also see staff wearing additional PPE (Personal Protective Equipment)
Appointments will be managed to allow for social distancing between patients. This may mean fewer options for scheduling appointments. We will allow greater time between patients in order to maintain social distancing and protection for patients and staff. Emergency care may not be seen the same day due to the pandemic.
